    no idea which wader this is i suspect a redshank but i'll leave it open .

    Looks more godwit like to me. But can't positively ident at the moment.

        Its a Black Tailed Godwit Jeff , very similar to the Bar Tailed in Winter plumage but the latter has a longer bill which is slightly upturned at the end.Lovely shot by the way.

                Couple more ident clues,

                Heavily streaked back and head on bar-tailed.
                The supercilious, the stripe over the eye, is much wider and longer on the bar-tailed

                    Lack of red legs (shanks) gives it away as not being a redshanks

                    Still a nice shot though.
