    Starlng on the pot

Starlings often congregate on the lobster pots at Mudeford Quay to pick any scraps that may have been left by the fishermen so plenty of shooting opportunities when the light is good.

Before any suggestions the background has been doctored, just to the right of the bird was a yellow blob from one of the buoys which has been cloned

    Full frame with 300 f4 and converter, 1/800, f7.1, ISO 400

The colours in the plumage are really beautiful when caught in the right light as you have done here.

apart from anything else, the buoy was a totally different colour to the rest of the background so had to go and as long as it doesnt alter the "story" then no problem although if it were a shot being entered in a nature competition, then of course anything like that would not be allowed.
