I am sorry I dont know what you mean about a direct upload. All I have done is cropped the photo to get rid of the green vegitation.

Sorry for not being explicit Mick I meant have you loaded onto the site straight from your computer as this can have an adverse effect on image quality , most people upload from a third party site such as Flickr which seems to do a better job of preserving detail on most occasions .

Thanks for the info. Yes I did upload the photograph directly from my computer, I do not have a Flickr account - are they easy enough to set up and use ?, and how do you get them from Flikr and onto here ? Sorry for all the questions.

If you can set up an account for this forum then opening a Flickr account is just as easy! There is also a "sticky" thread with details of how to link to Flickr images here

It's far better than direct uploads and it's easier to share photos with other sites, etc. rather than just use this forum.

Dead easy to set up a Flickr account Mick and once you have imported your photos into it , it is simple to upload them onto the forum. If you get stuck give us a shout.
