Although there is very little highlight clipping, 70 to 80 % of the tones are to the right and checking in ACR you need to reduce the exposure by around 1.5 stops and then lift the shadows.
Focus is spot on the middle bird but the dof is never going to be enough to get the back and front birds in focus so to be honest cropping off the front bird is not going to help too much

Personally I think it has improved it but also agree with Stan that it would be better if the rear birds were also in focus, as the three are quite close to each other. Generally I don't have a problem with out of focus birds in the background but maybe on this occasion, they're bit too close to the foreground Teal. What matters is 'do you think it's an improvement', we all have different views but it's your photograph.
