Stan is it the rogue that allows that eye shine & does it seem to affect the birds behavior? Like both shots.

Both very nice. Are you using a diffuser over the Rogue Safari?

have never found any sort of flash to spook the birds at all and with these due to the light there would have been no catchlight in the eye without it

I have an old "mop cap" thing I bought from Jessops years ago which I was going to use but in the end didnt find it necessary and no red eye. I was shooting Av and I think had the flash exposure compensation at around -1 1/3

I don`t think I will ever tire of seeing Nuthatch`s , top one has the edge for me . Your getting superb results with the Rogue Safari , assuming its the flash that freezes any movement , were you also supporting the camera in any way Stan ?

                Re: More Nuthatch Poses

they were both at 1/160 and around 550 mm and supported with my elbow on the hide window ledge - so yes probably the flash freezing movement at that speed and as you know nuthatches never stay still for long

I find that I get "white eye" when used without a diffuser- usually a white hanky! Did you get this "white eye"?
