          he needed to turn his head a bit
          these birds dont hang around and are usually lost in the trees and bushes so its good when they perch in the open. In fact I had a lot of visits and shots, some with the head turn but their tails were just out of the plane of focus. I don have any problem with the side on view, wouldnt bother if he was looking even slightly away though

          PS just noticed your egret is also a side on view

                  I just got the tail on this one as I had no chance to move the focus point from the centre which was right over the eye
