    bullfinch with branch.

    E83A0518.jpgE83A0518.jpg

    7d mk2, sigma 150/600 at 600mm spot meter, spot af, f8 1/800 is on pos2 AE iso3200

Another from this afternoons trip, I know the branch is naff, tried to spot focus on eye, with MF adjust set to +2, main body still appears soft even though eye looks sharp.

I know you are looking to help Black fox, where do you think my focus lies ?

      Re: bullfinch with branch.

The focus has picked up on the moss just above and in front of the eye ,the size of the focus box is dependant on camera used ,and in this case I think every camera would have picked up on that moss as it's to close to the eye and in front of it ,nice sharp moss though LOL.
The reason the bird itself is soft is depth of field is now behind the branch which has become the focus point .this is one of the reasons I shoot massive bursts of shots as just one might be the one that jumps out at you ,for instance yesterday over 500 shots taken over 300 deleted as soon as loaded on the computer
