      Can be diificult to capture in flight as they are very quick in the air and are usually flying against a dark background which can make locking on focus tricky , you have done well with this one but agree with Trev in that there is a bit too much space around the bird and it looks a little soft on my screen which may be due to that fact that it is a direct upload to the forum as this can happen. Good effort though and better than anything I have managed to date with these lovely birds

          Yes; small in the frame... but... great capture. Well done.
          As an aside; a little selective curves adjustment on the dark water will bring out the image better and display the bird better...

            Thanks for comments, but I'd need a 600mm or waders to get closer!
            Will try some curve adjustments though
