    Nightjar

Nightjar, put up by a fox early this morning up in the scrub, not the perfect image, more a record shot, but they are notoriously difficult to photograph. Normally you don't see them by day unless you accidentally disturb one then they don't take flight until you almost got your foot on it. Easy enough to get silhouette shots at dusk.

Nice one I've never seen one, let alone had a chance to get a shot (or several shots!) of one.

                    Re: Nightjar

Seen them as a silhouette in the distance and heard the wings slapping but never a decent view. Not 'record shots' to me.

                      Re: Nightjar

Thanks everyone, it was a case of being in the right place at the right time - my thanks to the fox!
This was a female - no black tips on wings and tail, there will be a nest there somewhere, we always get one pair nesting in that area each year.
