                          Re: Green Woodpecker

                          Here's a thought Rob.

Often, when people see examples of my work, they say wow and start gushing with praise. Now I try to be humble in my response, but I am really thinking, what are they on about? It's good, but it's not that good!

Now let's examine things a bit more objectively:

                          I saw the original shot.
                          I took the shot.
I chimped the shot on the rear screen.
                          I uploaded the shot.
I altered it a little in DPP.
                          I polished it in Photoshop.
                          I printed it.
                          I mounted the print.

It may have been a good shot to start with, but by the time I have gone through all that lot, I am fed up to the flippin teeth with it. You however, have just seen it for the first time in it's final polished form and your reaction is Wow!

And now to the point of this post; the reverse is also quite true. Your shot may seem quite ordinary to you through over familiarisation, but we get the wow factor in seeing it for the first time.

                          So please keep posting shots.
                          Colin

Thanks for that response Colin, appreciate it very much. Need to invest in a bit of self belief!
                            Regards
                            Rob.

Would it benefit from a slightly tighter crop I wonder?
