    Little Blue Heron juvenile

    Spotted on one of the lagoons along Fort Myers Beach not long after sunrise

    1/400, f8, ISO 400, 70-200 and converter @ 195mm

      Nice, sharp shot with lovely colours. I think I'd have tried cloning out the large piece of grass on the left as it keeps drawing my eye to it and a crop wouldn't work.

        I think I'd have tried cloning out the large piece of grass on the left as it keeps drawing my eye to it and a crop wouldn't work
        good call Chris - I left it for the reflection but does not really add anything to the shot. Selection and content aware fill has sorted it

          Looking at it's colour, it could be better named 'chimney sweep heron'. I didn't mind the stick and it's reflection but it's also fine without it. Lovely light on the water, which could make a nice abstract shot.

                        there are tall condos behind this lagoon and as the sun is rising most of the nearside is in shadow apart from where it peaks through the gaps so waited until he moved into one and hoped he didnt fly away before i got some shots
