    Swan

Many moons ago when I first became a Judge, the abbreviation NABS was often used. It stands for:

    Not Another Bloody Swan

    or

    Not Another Bloody Sunset

I soon saw why, as attending many different camera clubs there were rather a lot of each, the majority of which were rather mediocre. So, to impress a Judge with one of those shots wasn't going to be easy and consequently, I tended to keep clear of taking those pictures.

However, sometimes you just have to press the button and on a misty morning, with diffused sunlight just coming through onto calm water, I thought this one was worth a chance. I have underexposed by a stop to hold the highlights, which has inevitably darkened the light misty background, but I still think it works.

That is a lovely shot Colin, you can almost feel that tranquillity of being by the river in the early morning.
