        Agree with Trev , real shame you lost feet in the first shot

          Both look like good captures - to make things even better perhaps consider the following
          Shot No.1 - others may disagree with me but for wildlife I find either the whole subject or head and shoulders composition work best. Clean backgrounds are important as well so the bright rock in the background catches the eye. Of course we can't always pick and choose our positioning and we take what we can get :-)
          Shot No.2 the head and shoulders shot works well I think but perhaps shift the subject in the frame to the right so the bird is looking into the picture (looking a tad central)
