    Kestrel 2018-6

Everytime I've visited over past couple of days only seen one bird sat incubating.

Today was fortunate to be there at right time to see the birds swap places for sitting on the eggs. Picture not great as quite overcast at the time.

Bird at the front (male, slightly smaller and more colourful) wasn't too keen to swap places with the female (larger and less colourful).

Defintely think these aren't the birds that bred here last year. IIRC the male last year had been ringed and so far I've not spotted any on this bird.

Whilst waiting for the kestrel did see a couple of treecreepers which is quite a rarity in our area.

Not a fantastic image as very large crop and very overcast conditions. Hope to see it some more and get better images.

Two nice shots Ant, especially the Creeper. With regards to the Kestrels you can only get what is delivered, we would all at times like to improve the available light - well done

Thanks for comments. The nest site isn't the best in the afternoon as its in shade so overcast conditions are certainly not helpful.

Good to see treecreeper locally, some 15+ years ago the northern limit for treecreeper was a good 20-30 miles south of us.
