    Frosty Morning Kingfisher.

It was flipping cold and the only action was argumentative Coots. So I was on the verge of calling it quits, when I had a little visitor for five minutes or so.

Only a LOT jealous, still top of my list to get a nice shot of.

Leaning on a hide window, 1.4x switched in and another 1.4x on the back = 784mm.

Freezing cold and one of my most boring visits ever. Got there at 8:00am and sunrise was at 8:10am. Nothing happening except Coots getting a bit grumpy with each other, but no light getting over the bank yet. Just after 10:am the light starts creeping over the bank, but no action. Feet are a block of ice, despite two pairs of socks and coffee from the flask is running short. Starting to feel sorry for myself and seriously thinking of leaving without a single shot taken in anger ................ when this little fella shows up half an hour later. I am by now the only one left in the hide and feeling rather smug.

He stayed for around five minutes and didn't fly to the closer perches, but I got some acceptable shots. I stayed for another hour or so of complete boredom, but he didn't return.

                Happy days!

Smashing shot, they can be so frustrating, flying past at Mach 1, sometimes stopping on a perch for a second before going again
