Old 1d Mk3 - Great tit and Greenfinch

Hi,

Picked up an old 1D Mk 3 in good condition and just in the process of setting it up. Took a few in the back garden - nothing fancy but quiet impressed. 10fps is a nice touch. Both are crops 40 -50%

If anyone has any advice on settings etc I would be grateful. I am pretty sure Black fox use to have one!!

They look good to me as well. I had a 1D Mk 3 but sold it for a 1DX when they first came out. The 1D3 is a great camera but it can be a bit hit and miss with flight shots or moving subjects. Canon introduced a modification to early models which could be undertaken free of charge. Brian - I did check the cameras serial number and it was not in the range considered to be at risk of af issues - so hopelly will be ok!!

I seem to recall that the modified ones had a blue spot inside the battery compartment. I bought an early one that needed the mod, even though mine didn't suffer the problem. I had it done on the better to be safe basis and it may have helped the re-sale value.
