An unusual and well exposed shot of a Shag.
During my boat trip to the Farne Islands, we had a running commentary by the skipper. He pointed out all the various birds and the differences between a Cormorant and a Shag and further mentioned that all of the birds were there for mating and then went out to sea, except the Shag, which was a year round resident. So I casually mentioned that if you were after a Shag, the Farnes was the place to be!Colin
