That combo has worked rather well for you Gary.
I was at Blashford Lakes last week and photographically it was a bit of a washout. However, on the way down to a hide, a Robin flew close and landed on a branch a foot from me. Very slowly, I opened my lunchbox, broke off some of my sandwich and held it out in the palm of my hand. I didn't expect any reaction, but he took off, hovered over my palm, dipped down and took the offering. A few seconds later, his mate landed on the same branch, so I offered more of my lunch and she hovered briefly before taking her share.
I may not have taken any worthwhile photos, but that little incident gave me a happy feeling for the rest of the day.ColinComment

Great shot Gary. The 100-400 L ll plus 1.4 TClll is a great set up. Been using mine a lot more recently although on the 5D MklVTrev

Excellent shot Gary. It looks as though I'll be using that combo on my 7DII a lot more in future. In the past I was always reluctant to put a TC on a zoom lens.Comment
