Well captured Gary, you say your first, are they scarce in your part of the world - bit of a problem down here around the bird feeders

Nice image needs something doing with the dark smudges on the left and around the fork of the branch, I live in an urban area and have never seen one anywhere near

Well captured Gary, they are heavily shot round here, but there are a few areas where they are safe, though they are very nervous(there's also a pair of Goshawks that seem to like eating them too).

Well captured Gary, though the jay looks a little dark on my monitor. When shooting up to the sky I normally over-expose by a stop and a third.

                Lovely photo, well captured.

I have only ever seen one Jay before and not where I live.

Agreed , maybe try lifting the shadows too , I am not a fan of cloning , but looks an easy fix here , and would improve it further . Well done on snapping him though , they are very clever birds and not the easiest to get photos of .

                    Thanks guys
The shot was one stop underexposed. I do usually overexpose when shooting into the sky.
I did not have time to switch settings, before it flew off.

I have never seen one until 4 weeks ago, which was in a wooded area.
