    Where's my dinner?

A grab shot this afternoon of a visiting sparrow hawk who was deciding which of the birds around would make the tastiest meal.
It was the only shot I managed as I had to run and get my camera --- he took off rather quickly!

Thats pretty good for a quick grab shot, you were lucky you had time to get your camera; my experience is that they’ve normally gone!

Thank you Trev, John, Colin and Bill.
I was chuffed to have managed to grab the photo, it is the first wild bird of prey for me - the others have been in captivity. It would be great if he came back but that maybe asking too much!

I think you can confidently expect him back.

Occasionally get them in the garden, but unlike you, I've never managed a shot as they don't stay very long at all.

John - it would be fantastic if he did come back, I’m crossing all of my fingers (which will make taking photos difficult!)
Antoeknee, it was pure luck, as you say they do not stay around for very long.
