This Buzzard was keeping a watchful eye on me while I was continuing to burn up the gorse and bracken - no doubt waiting for voles and mice to make a quick exit

We could see the glow in the sky, know the area well where it was - The Tavy Cleave, just above Peter Tavy. Its an area I use ( the car park at Lanes End) when leading walks out to Fur Tor, one of Dartmoor's remotest locations. There's always a big outcry when there is a moorland or heathland fire in my area, but within a few months it will recover.
