    Great Crested Grebe

    I think the ID is correct...taken on a walk around the lake at Trentham Gardens - I walked to the waters edge and disturbed this one resting under the long grasses....caught this one as it swam away.

        Great shot Brian, ID correct Great Crested Grebe. With its ear tufts and crest it looks very much on its way to breeding plumage.
