Something of a long shot down in the field this morning - taken with Sigma 150-600mm S + 1.4 converter.
It had a prey item, you can just see something red on the deck in front of it. It was getting somewhat agitated because the sheep were coming down towards it

Don't think it will take a lager crop, although I agree with your thoughts. It was hand held balanced on an old fencing stake I found in the hedge. It was a good 100 yards plus away from me, at first I thought it was a cock pheasant.
