    Lucky shot

On my afternoon stroll along the nearby canal a Kingfisher flew past and landed in a bush 30-40 ft away. I scanned the bush, but could see no sign of him, but I took a shot anyway (I had a 200mm) lens on. When I got home & checked this is what I found:

not a great shot photographically I know, but I was pleased to get it nonetheless.

Well seen, despite their colour they do seem to blend in all too often

Well spotted Russell, it can be very difficult to spot birds hidden in trees!

Thanks for looking everyone. It was a bit like "Where's Wally" scanning the image, I spent an hour or so there yesterday to see if he (?) reappeared but no. So I've no idea where the nest/roost might be.
