            Thanks everyone for commenting. Starting to get use to the R7 and finding the AF a significant upgrade.

                  Hi Rose, we go bird watching once a week with a friend who lost his wife to covid. So getting images like this is a case of being in the right place/time.

                  And I think the combo of R7 and Sigma 150-600 contemporary is capable of producing some excellent images. This setup would cost roughly £2200 which might be considered inexpensive when you consider the cost of equipment currently.

                        Just been looking through the images I took of buzzard. Over the 3 or 4 occasions I took images I'd say more than 80% were in focus, a far higher figure than I got with my 7D2. Largely down to my non too steady hands. The AF tracking on the R7 manages to keep locked on even when you let the bird move from the centre of the frame.
