    Lesser Yellowlegs

Lesser yellowlegs, a rare vagrant from America. Only a handful occur each year.

Photographed this bird at RSPB Frampton Marsh last week.

That's a gem and beautifully captured. The detail is great even the sun catching the droplets on the bill.

Fantastic capture Ant, well done. We had one down here some time back, first one ever I think for this area. I never managed to see it.

Thanks for fantastic comments. A lucky coincidence, we only decided to visit Frampton and Tchwell a few days before and weren't aware this bird was present. A lifer for us. Blessed with great weather for the 3 days too.
My trusty Sigma is still producing good images. Hoping the when (still waiting) I get my Canon 200-800 it proves to be good. From what I've read it's AF is far superior and IQ certainly better.

Thank you. Right place right time is probably more apt than you might guess.

I was quite puzzled by the balance of this image as the sun was behind the bird. The bird was showing in a pool close to the car park, in fact it was quite possible to sit in your car and watch it.

When I was taking this image there was a white coach parked at right angles to the bird no more than 15-20yds away and it would appear it was acting as a reflector.
