    Fieldfare

Fieldfare stripping the Ivy of berries in the garden today. There must have been a flock of sixty plus moving along the hedgerow stripping all in their path.

Strange has it may sound I’ve seen very few Redwings this year, however Fieldfares have been very numerous. Quite the posited to other years when Redwings seem to dominate. This was remarked to me a few weeks back by a birdwatcher who uses my fields. He claimed he had only seen a handful all winter.

Excellent image and likely they will be returned to their breeding range soon.

Re redwings, we've seen lots this year in most every place we've been bird watching. On Wednesday we were at RSPB Old Moor and there was a flock of 60+ feeding in some fields.
