      Nice shot, I saw one in the lakes last year but too far away to get a decent shot with the 100-400 that I had then.

        Very nice Trev. They are such delicately attractive birds, often difficult to see in their environment, unless they move.

                    I think it had just arrived it w as very tolerant, did not move for over half an hour.
                    It was a bit amusing at the time. There was another photographer there who had his camera on ‘rapid fire’ he must have taken hundreds of shots of the bird. All he kept saying was “I can’t believe this” he was getting so excited over it. I came away with four shots from different VP’s

                        Don’t know about your patch Ant, but there seems to be a dramatic shortage of birds around this year. I got all the one’s I would expect to see but not in any numbers like previous years. The same can be said of the estuary this year, there were no where near the number of wintering waders and wildfowl as in years gone by. Quite worrying.

                          Not really noticed a particular absence of birds. But there does seem to be evidence of changes in bird populations.

                          Weather has been awful this spring and may be a factor.
