He's a great wee dog but a bl**dy pest when we're out photograhing near water - all he wants to do is dive into the water after sticks!!
Still, a wet Springer is a happy Springer

Great shot - same goes for our Flatcoat - heaven is retrieving sticks from cold water - again, and again!!!

Our last dog was a Working Cocker and she loved the water as well but she used to find a nice easy way in whereas Bracken just takes a run and jumps in

great shot of your Springer, we have a two year old Border Terrier who's exactly the same he wants sticks throwing into the water all the time and barks as soon as you pick one up, only trouble is he doesnt bring them back and its a pain trying to find more

Ace shot!
I had a border collie and she used to run up to water with a ball in her mouth, drop it in the water and then refuse to go in to retrieve it. I was forever leaning over the water with a big stick trying to hook the ball before it floated away. She would look up at me as if to say 'who could have predicted that would happen?'

Great stories here that I can relate to
He retrieves sticks and balls and drops them at our feet - something that he has learned to do on his own without training.
Wherever we go he seems to find a ball, even in the most remote locations!!
