    Slurpy dog

Trying to get to grips with flash, which I have spent most of my time being serious about photography avoiding. I have an awful lot to learn in this area, but I am at least getting something approaching correct exposure....big step forward, lol

Good catchlight in the eyes, and DOF, but the tongue makes it for me!

Exposure-wise I'd say that was spot on, so you do seem to have cracked it. Nice catchlight as Russell says, and perfect timing. Only quibble is the tightness at the top of the frame clipping his/her hair, but as an example of flash work, it is excellent.

The exposure with the flash looks spot on and caught just right with the tongue out

If mine, I would crop square and ditch the copyright which intrudes a bit

Thanks for the feedback. Stan, the watermark is meant to be intrusive, I've seen all manner of methods used in copying stuff to share on Facebook in recent months and whilst this particular image is unlikely to be under any threat everything now gets one on export to Flickr. Alex, taken on board, thanks.
