Hi Dave,
For me, I prefer the F8 as it also sharpens some of the fleece as well as the hairs on the top of the head. However I would still go for a bit of blurring using software of the fence or whatever in the lower LH corner. It detracts from the face a little. Nice one though - got the Ah! factor. Also, can you get some catch-lights in the eyes? Have to be very subtle with it though. Does this disable my vote? - I'll try it.

Somewhere in between for me, so neither.

This type of shots works best with the face and ears sharp, the rest can soften for me - just my view

Same here I'd be more inclined for f/4 or f/5.6 to get the head in focus and blur the rest.

Also agree that the bottom left corner is distracting.
