Was by the marshes at the mouth of the Humber a few days ago in the heat wave. Watched great clouds of Knot whirling in the air making incredible patterns rather like starlings when they are murmurating. The Knot clouds changed from bright white to grey as they turned into and out of the sun.
Dasehd to get the 100-400 out of the car boot, but that gave enough time for all the birds to settle and they didn't rise again while I was there......
However, this young lady came past on her horse, and I thought it made a nice picture. Oh, and the Knot are visible as a white band on the distant sand-bank.
50D + 100-400L.
Actually, there was too much heat-haze to do the birds justice at that distance so I went for a cooling ice-cream.
