    Winter Plants

Winter Garden 01 by cyberdavis, on Flickr

Winter Garden 02 by cyberdavis, on Flickr

Took these round my in-laws garden over the holidays.
I quite like the simplicity, but are they too simple?

Not at all ............... there is a lot to be said for simple. Of the two, my favourite is the second and it would be interesting to see the same shot in Portrait format. A thought for the future perhaps.

that would then also give you a more uniform background

I prefer the first - I rather like the bokeh in the background. But would either go with a portrait or square crop and maybe a slight rotation so the stem comes from the corner?

Thanks very much for the comments and feedback.
I need to remember to turn the camera and try both landscape and portrait modes when framing shots.
I will maybe revisit those images and see how they look if I crop to portrait format.
