    Poppy

This poppy plant self-seeded in my garden. I plan to collect the seed heads when it has finished flowering as I think it's a really attractive plant.

    Nice image Russell
You may be better to propagate this by taking root cuttings, doing so gives you quicker results and the plants created this way retain the parents colour which isn't always the case with plants grown from the seed

Good suggestion Peter, I'll give it a try later in the year (Autumn or sooner?)

Cropped from the right so that the flower is "looking" into the frame and going for a square crop (with maybe a touch from the left to get the square) would make a beautiful card.

Amazed that it is flowering so early. I have found that they spread by seed very abundantly and keep their original colour pretty well - they also seem to have a great sense of where to plant themselves!

                    Re: Poppy

They are actually in a glasshouse Diana, which probably accounts for the early flowering, though I also have some red poppies flowering outside.

                    Thanks for looking.
