    I like it even with the leaves

    I would have been tempted to do something with the background, maybe darken the shadows to loose it ?

        Like the composition and colour contrast very much. As previously said I think the background could do with darkening down. Also you may wish to revisit the PL the stem appears to have halos - possibly over sharpened ? Good shot overall though

            I tried different backgrounds, light, dark, even white, but they did not look quite right, so I settled on whats above.
