    a bluebell from yesterday ,hand held shot with the sigma sport .think i,m going to enjoy this summer

      I've a feeling that that's a hybrid with the Spanish invader though Jeff. Nice shot though.

          Are you sure ? Those anthers look a cream colour which generally indicates a native one - if you know different then I'm interested in why you think that

            Wow I only took a pic because we couldn't find the reported cuckoo ,this in fact seems more interesting ,unfortunately I only took two similar shots

              1) Upright stem
              2,) Colour not the intense blue of the native
              3) Open tips
              4) Flowers both sides of the stem

              Leaf shape would help to confirm, but overall I don't think it's pure native.

                just looked at the original file ,no leafs showing thats it virtually top to bottom .if however your so inclined to investigate further its at the very top of the wirral ,near leasowe lighthouse .and on the bank of the old duck pond ,your only a hundred yards from the irish sea there so bring your bathers and a surfboard if you wish .i have made many sightings there over the last few years including pictures of our beloved queen ROFPMSL
