Pamphill Bluebells

The bluebell wood at Pamphill on the Kingston Lacy estate is probably the best one local to me so spent the mornng shooting both for me and for KL publicity.

These are all individual flowers where I have gone for the "dreamy" look. All hand held with the 100 f2.8 LIS at shutter sppeds around 1/100, f8, ISO 400

Lovely - especially the first one.

I occasionally try to get shots of flowers like that with the dreamy background, but they generally turn out to be a bit rubbish so I definitely need more practice!

to get these I picked stems that were a little higher than those nearby and then shot from a low point of view at ground level with the macro lens, which as you know has a very narrow DOF even at f8. I did experiment at f2.8 but DOF was so narrow that almost nothing was in focus
