    New Zealand Ferns

A couple of shots of an amazing fern I saw in New Zealand - maybe someone would know its name??

One more - it has some nasty thorns

In the above photo the frond would be called the Koru. The fern shouldn't have any thorns though! Do you have a photo of the adult plant or unfurled frond? Do you happen to remember if the fern had a silvery underside? Did the fern have a trunk, black? If so, then it is probably the NZ Tree Fern or 'ponga'.

Think before you press the shutter button!

Blimey, hope you shot these with a zoom, they look like they may attack at any minute!

No - stepped right in there for a close-up!!

Here's a more general view - think you are right, Eeyore- look like pongas to me! The stems were such an amazing shade of green and the whole plants about head height.
