    In a sun lit field

    On my walk the other evening I spotted one flash of red.

    I wanted to take a field full of poppies, but no joy.

    Just got this one...




    Canon 500d - 50-250 is lens... WDYT?

    I think lovely. Poppies always lend themselves to backlighting and you have captured it well.

        Nice detail in the petals Di, the exposure is spot on, it can be easy to loose saturation in the red if it is a bit over exposed. Need to keep an eye on the background though, the leaf at the bottom is not a problem but the one behind the flower does distract a llittle.

            I know, once again I suffered from "thats what I want" blindness and only saw the poppy... my excuse is, I was on the path... and the poppy was at the edge of a planted field. But I intend to give it another go... this time I'll watch the backgrounds.

              That's super, but I would try to get rid of the leaf/seedhead above the flower - bit distracting.

                I might have a go at seeing if I can clone it out completely, hopefully I won't make a complete hash of it.
