    Cotton Grass

    Cotton Grass - Eriophorum angustifolium.
Actually it's a sedge, not a grass, and the Latin name Eriophorum means "wool-bearing" rather than cotton... The "cottony" hairs are on the fruits.
Oh, and angustifolium means "narrow (angust) leaved (folium).

Grows in wet, boggy places, so this was a wet knees job kneeling in all the Spahgnum moss on the common near Broad Pool on Gower in South Wales.

    Grows well there -

    50D + 24-105L + wet boots as well.

    Cheers, Chris.
    Just chuggin' along.

    Re: Cotton Grass

    Hi Chris,

I like number 1, well positioned in the frame and nice and sharp.

Sadly, number 2 doesn't do much for me, but number 1 was worth the wet feet!!!

    Regards Paul

I bet it looks quite something waving in the breeze. Number one for me as well. Like how you can pick all the fibres out.

Number 1 gets my vote too.
The fibres look almost 3d on my laptop screen, they are so clear.
