    Cone Flower

Sloping ever so slightly from left to right!!

    Nowt wrong with that.

Sharp flower and out of focus background. The light blue background is the direct opposite on the colour wheel of the yellow flower. Main action on the thirds and going from left to right, so the composition is quite strong.

If you would consider some very minor hints to improve:

The lighting is a little flat, so either add a little off camera flash and/or boost the levels in Photoshop, or Elements, to brighten up the flower a little.

Dull down or remove the flower head lower right to the yellow flower. A very minor distraction, but once you notice it, you tend to be drawn to it.

Consider tilting the camera a little so that the flower is more of a diagonal across the picture. Not with the stem coming from the corner as that is just a little too contrived, but just shy of the corner.

My suggestions are very minor hints at polishing a very good initial shot.

What an unusual flower and I like the contrasting colours well seen

just what i was thinking and it makes a good subject. I wonder what it would look like with a texture added

I like this.. have to ask, do the petals drop off and leave the centre as a seed head?
