    Darters at The Lodge

A few of my best shots from when we went to The Lodge in Bedfordshire a few weeks ago. I've never seen so many in one place before.
All are hand-held with the 7D and Tamron 90mm, comments/critiques welcomed.

All common darters Cory, male, female and probably immature males. I like the poses but are slightly soft - some i think will come up better with a a bit more usm. I see you have used various apertures and only ISO 100. f8 -f11 usually works better with dragons and upping the ISO to 400 would give you a better shutter speed for handholding

I am impressed they sat around for you to get close enough. I have always found them more than a tad jumpy at the sight of a lens peering at them - or perhaps that is just me they are wary of!

I take back the second part of the comment, I was looking on my small laptop screen and now looking on the bigger screen they look fine, especially the last three
