Unusual isn't he/she? Green head, blue tail, furry back, shiny tail - bizarre.

its a male and reasonabley common and very similar to a keeled skimmer, the main difference being the lack of black on the tail - there were loads of both plus broad bodied chaser flying around the pond, and the word is "flying" rather than perching so i had tpo make the few opportunities count
