    I've never seen one of these before, but it just goes to show, whatever man invents, nature thought of it first:

        Thanks Andy & Tom. I like the "eye spots" on the tails, presumably to confuse attackers.

              Thanks Nathaniel & Andy. According to wikipedia they only fly at night. So we switched off all the lights and opened the external doors & windows, and he/she had the sense to leave when darkness fell.
