    Dragonfly. No idea of species.

Yesterday as I was sitting in the conservatory, this dragonfly flew in the open door.

I grabbed the camera and took these "snaps".

I would have had time to adjust the camera settings but did not think.

As I coaxed it towards the open window it decided to settle on my hand.

Decided to take the poor beast outside in the hope that it would fly off. Well it did, and I need to warn you that the next image is very scary.

Eventually it flew off and returned to nature.

No idea on the species but I and the wife who took the picture of me were both surprised to see it as we live in a town with no ponds or anything near by.

    Thanks for looking.

A Brown Hawker (Aeshna grandis), male I think. He seems friendly though!

Yes its a brown hawker, the only hawker to have brown coloured membranes to its wings and you can tell its a male by the blue spots at the front of its abdomen
