    Large Skipper

    Shot with a 24-105 in Macro mode, ISO 800 so more than a tad grainy at 800px.

        A good composition and detail but it is way too noisy, surprising at only ISO 800 unless it is a big crop as well

          Yes Stan in the original the Skipper is approx 5% of the image. I was interested to see what to 24-105 could do in "macro" mode and 480mm was as close as I could get to achieve any sort of focus. To be fair to the lens though, the Buddleia was bouncing up and down in the wind which added to the complications.

            Yes Stan in the original the Skipper is approx 5% of the image
            really too much of a crop for such a small butterfly so a 24-105 is not ideal - although with all the noise it does make for quite a nice "painted" effect image
