Black Darter - clean background

When i went to Arne a couple of weeks back I got some shots of the black darters and although they were the best i have ever got, I was not 100% pleased with the background, so i went back last week and got some improvement

1/800, f8, ISO 800, 100mm

A day later I went along to another site near work and found them perching over the water

Really nice, hard choice but I think #2 has the edge for me, can't say why but each time I went back to look I would spend longer on the second one.

Two different opinions

Whilst the background of the first is far better than the shots from a few weeks back and is something i would have been very happy with had i not found them at another site the next day

The colours on number one seem to stand out more for me.
