Weather here has been very hot recently which has brought out very large numbers of butterflies in my garden. I counted 15 different species which I managed to get pictures of. What I hadn't realised was that some species are very reluctant to open their wings fully when feeding. Quite frustrating a times.
Some of the pictures were taken very quickly as a new species would appear and then quickly disappear. I have sent the pictures as 4 parts as there are 31 pictures in all.
All pictures were taken in my garden over the last few days except the picture of the Red Admiral which was taken at a different location. I was also lucky enough to see a Swallowtail for the second time. For me, an absolutely stunning butterfly.
All picture taken were handheld on a Canon 550D with an EFS 15-85mm f3.5/5.6 IS USM Lens or an EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS II USM Lens
