    Marbled White Head On

Still finding more butterflies to process from Martin Down, this one a head on shot. The focus in on the eye but either due to motion blur on narrow dof the head is not quite there

Nice. I have several like this where I've slightly missed the head with the DOF.

Looks like you didn't miss by much. To me it looks like you got everything from the eye backwards in focus.

Is it just a one-off Stan, or could the lens be back focussing?

I think it is a one off Colin and likely due to the wind moving it slightly - I have 3 other shots from the burst as yet unprocessed and at least one of them looks to have better focus around the head area

Just done a quick process on another one where i think the head is much better but the focus backwards has tailed off quicker. So I.m thinking its slight movement due to the breeze
I think also its lost a little in uploading to photobucket - it looks mucxh better on my hard drive - could be the problem with the first one too to a lesser extent

I would have to agree, doesn't look like your lens is back focusing.
