    Monarch & Pohutukawa

In 2013 SWMBO and I visited her brother in New Zealand. For various reasons I had mentally put the photos I took there to one side, but while doing a bit of tidying up I chanced upon them again.

This was taken in their garden, where the Pohutukawa (try saying that after a couple of sherbets!) was very attractive to the butterflies.

They are beautiful butterflies John. This one might be helped by cropping a lot off the right side as to remove the dead flower as it tends to dominant the image.

Very nice. If being picky, I'd have cloned out the remnants of the dead head on the right hand side.

Picky? - Surely not - just setting a challenge!

Many of the Maori names for things are like this - real tongue-twisters!
